The Mesa team has released version 25.2.6, a routine but important bugfix update in the 25.2 series. Announced by Eric Engestrom on October 29, 2025, the update refines driver stability, shader handling, and Vulkan compatibility across multiple backends. The next bugfix release is expected on November 12.
Among the key highlights, Alyssa Rosenzweig contributed D3D-compatible texturing improvements for Proton via the anv driver. Benjamin Cheng delivered several fixes for H.265 video encoding in radv/video, while Connor Abbott enhanced the tu driver with better handling of GMEM paths, subpass attachments, and synchronization logic.
Faith Ekstrand pushed several Vulkan and PanVK optimizations, including improved pipeline UUIDs and shader deserialization stability. On the Intel side, Lionel Landwerlin addressed issues in shader operations and Vulkan render passes, ensuring better correctness and performance.
Marek Olšák fixed Radeon tessellation for older GFX6–7 hardware and improved DXTC blits, while Timur Kristóf patched Radeon GPU hang bugs affecting titles like Dota 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. The Zink driver, maintained by Mike Blumenkrantz, also received updates to streamline swapchain management and rendering behavior.
