  1. Thanks Mehedi, this was very helpful when I had to re-install after upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 – Got myself into a complete mess re YT-DL but your instructions guided me to the answer. \
    Thanks again

  2. youtube-dl -x –audio-format mp3
    I am trying this on openSuse Tumbleweed, but it is not working.
    I am able to use youtube-dl to download a video [mp4], but sometimes it would be nice to just pull the audio only.
    Is it possible that openSuse is missing something that is required to make this work?

    Also, I would like to know how to create a config file. Specifically, can I use any text editor to create “config”. KWrite or leafpad, for instance or would it be better to use one such as Nano?

    thank you Youtube-dl is awsome.

  3. Well done one minor issue:
    $ sudo apt-get purge youtube-dl
    $ sudo apt remove youtube-dl
    $ sudo apt install python3-pip
    $ sudo pip install youtube-dl

    I had to use on the last line.
    $ sudo pip3 install youtube-dl

    Good information thanks
